Hey Washoe County!

My name is Brian Wadsworth and I am a member of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe. I am running for Washoe County Commissioner for District 5. I am a product of being born and raised in rural Nevada. My journey to run for Washoe County Commissioner began when I learned our neighbors up in Gerlach were potentially going to be without life-saving emergency services when the contract between the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe and Washoe County was going to expire on June 30, 2025. At the time, Washoe County had to piecemeal a plan for our neighbors in Gerlach. When the contract expired, the county was able to secure a contractor to provide ambulance services, but no plan for firefighters. None of our communities deserve to be an afterthought or forgotten about. 

District 5 covers of 5,800 square miles and almost 90% of the land base here in Washoe County. We have diverse communities: suburban, urban, rural, and Tribal communities. All of our communities deserve to feel safe and have access to life-saving emergency services. All of our communities’ voices matter.
