Why I'm Running

This is not Wadsworth’s first time running for public office. He has the honor to have previously been elected to serve on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Council for two terms, and to the Pyramid Lake Jr./Sr. High School Board of Education for one term.

Wadsworth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Nevada, Reno. He furthered his education with a Master of Business Administration from Gonzaga University. Professionally, he serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Native Public Media and works part-time at Orangetheory Fitness, reflecting a strong work ethic and real-world experience balancing multiple jobs to support a household.

Living in rural Nevada has significantly shaped Wadsworth’s views on county governance and equitable access to services. In communities like Nixon, access to high-speed internet is a recent development, and residents often face long commutes to Reno for running basic errands. Wadsworth believes these rural realities should be better reflected in county decision-making processes.

Conversely, his experiences of living in Northwest Reno, South Reno, and the Stead areas have given him insight into urban challenges, such as traffic congestion, infrastructure demands, and the pressures of rapid growth.

Wadsworth’s decision to run for County Commissioner was driven by concerns over public safety and equitable access to essential services. He aims to ensure that District 5 communities are fully represented in county discussions, funding allocations, and public safety planning.
